TRAINING (Details)
UGANDA REVENUE AUTHORITY (URA) – Training in Basic IT Skills
2003 – 2004 Uganda Revenue Authority wanted her staff to be trained and obtain practical proficiency in each of the most commonly used software tools. ICT Consults Ltd was contracted to offer basic IT skills to URA staff. Participants were equipped with hands on understanding in using the computer, managing files and mostly on how to use operating systems. They were guided through Word Processing, so as to enable them create professional documents, plus doing such advanced tasks as mail merge and integration with spreadsheets and graphics. Spreadsheet training enabled participants to carry out mathematical and basic statistical manipulation of numeric data. Finally participants were exposed to Information Networks such that the use of electronic mail and information retrieval using various search engines on the Internet is made possible.
POST BANK UGANDA LTD. (ICT Computer Audit For the East African Region )
During the March 2003, ICT Consults Ltd was contracted by Post Bank Ltd to build capacity for its East Africa Headquarter staff in Computer Audit.
ICT Consults consultants provided expert training in computer security and how to prevent fraud and crime in their systems. The participants were exposed to the fundamentals of IT Auditing, Software Audit packages and data communication and networks. Disaster recovery and Business continuity was part of the exposition.
The workshop was extremely gainful to their staff. Participants were excited about applying the concepts that they learnt when they returned to their places of work.
HOSPICE UGANDA E-Learning Staff Training and Website Designing/Development
2003 ICT Consults Ltd was contracted by Hospice Africa to offer E-learning training services to the organization's staff. The aim of the training was to enable Hospice Uganda staff acquire E-Learning skills on how to use the online Makerere University Black Board site. A static website was also designed and developed as part of the contract to provide links so as to gather information, content, ease communication and collaboration. INFORMATIONS SYSTEMS DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT (Details)

Project: Students' Academic Records and Membership Management System.
Being countered with a challenge of disseminating student academic results efficiently and management of its members that had completed, ICPAU approached ICT Consults Ltd to provide to with a responsive design for a Web based Database management System.
We designed a dynamic system that could enable Display of Students results on the ICPAU website, storing of student results and their details, automatic generation of transcripts and certificates, automatic writing of student invitation letters for examinations and allocation of examination seat numbers
The system also stores details of ICPAU professionals by tracking their professional experience in the field and monitoring of their professional development.

Academic Registrar's Office Transcripts' Office
Project: Design Of Academic Register's Transcripts Software System
Makerere University Kampala was faced with a challenge of delayed transcript processing.
This was caused by the increased numbers of students while there was limited human capability to run an efficient paper based system. The system in place was designed to handle a small number of students not the thousands of graduates that the university is currently churning out.
ICT Consults Ltd helped the Academic Registrar's Office to automate its Transcript processes. This business process re engineering has enabled the transcripts office to efficiently provide students with their transcripts in the shortest times. Prior to the new system, it took an average student 3three months to get his or her transcript. Today it is a matter of few days.
ICT designed a transcript processing system that was aimed at reducing the in efficiencies in the current manual system, which resulted into delays and a lot of inaccuracies in the transcripts processed. ICT consults developed a system for which each faculty entered results of its students and would forward them to the academic registrar's office over a wide Area network.

Project: Design Of a research Management and Coordination System
Given the era where quick access to academic information is of utmost importance, the school of postgraduate studies wanted to improve its coordination among researchers and research students.
ICT Consults was approached to design a system to coordinate researchers and the school of Post Graduate studies by enabling instant access to previous researches done by Post Graduate students, and other researchers. The system enables instant search capabilities to allow instant access to researches done, papers published, dissertations, theses and projects.
Uganda Law Reform Commission
Project: Computerization of the Law Revision Center in the Uganda Law Reform Commission
The goal of the computerization of the Law Revision Center was to aid ULRC to efficiently accomplish the task of revising Uganda 's law's that had not been revised for the last 37 years.
ICT Consults designed and supervised the implementation ULRC's Law Revision Centre and training of the center's staff in usage of the new center.
Our consultants supervised the Installation of a Local Area Network (LAN), provided a design for new Information Resource Centre, assisted in the Recruitment and training a System/ Network Administrator, designed a website for the Law Reform Commission and still provides continued training for end users.
MAKERERE UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF ARTS
Project: Installation Of Local Area Network (LAN)
The Makerere University Faculty of Arts wanted to install a Local Area Network in their Faculty so as to easy communication, content gathering, resource sharing and collaboration. After a lengthy search and evaluation about which company to carryout the contract, ICT Consults ltd was chosen to provide the service for six months. We are proud to be the official IT partners with Makerere University Faculty of Arts.
